<br />RESOLUTION NO. 02-093 <br /> <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF~RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING AN ALTERNATIVE URBAN AREAWIDE REVIEW <br />("AUAR") OF THE NORTHWEST QUADRANT REDEVELOPMENT AREA. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />A. The City wishes to redevelop the area commonly known as the Northwest <br />Quadrant Redevelopment Area. <br /> <br />B. The Northwest Quadrant Redevelopment Area is an area approximately 110 <br />acres in size and is located at the northwest quadrant of Interstate Highways <br />694 and 35W. The site is located in the Southeast Quarter of Section 20 and <br />the Southwest Quarter of Section 21 of Township 30, Rangel3, City of New <br />Brighton, Ramsey County, Minnesota. The Site is generally bounded by <br />Interstate 694 to the south, futerstate Highway 35W and First Street NW to <br />the east, the Minnesota Transfer Railway spur line to the west and the <br />Minnesota Transfer Railway spur line and Old Highway 8 to the north. The <br />Redevelopment area is depicted onthe attached Exhibit A (the <br />"Redevelopment Site"). <br /> <br />C. The City proposes that the Redevelopment Site be redeveloped as town <br />homes, multi-family residential, office, office-showroom, and conmlercial <br />uses together with parking structures and surface parking lots. The city also <br />proposes that 3,000 square foot transit station be developed at the <br />Redevelopment Site. The relative densities and locations ofthe <br />redevelopment components, all as shown in greater detail on the attached <br />Exhibit A. <br /> <br />D. The Minnesota Environmental Policy Act, Minnesota Chapter 116D, <br />requires that the city, as the responsible governmental unit, conduct a <br />comprehensive review of the potential environmental impacts from <br />redeveloping the Redevelopment Site. An AUAR is one of several forms of <br />permitted environmental review. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NEW BRIGHTON: <br />
