0 MEMORANDUM OF UNDERSTANDING <br />The City of New Brighton and Law Enforcement Labor Services, Inc. have reached an <br />understanding regarding ARTICLE XVII Sections 17.2 and 17.4 of the 2008-2009 <br />Master Labor Agreement. The contract was approved with a re -opener for ARTICLE <br />XVII Section 17.2. The parties have agreed to the following language: <br />ARTICLE XVII -INSURANCE <br />17.2 Effective January 1, 2009, The EMPLOYER will contribute $530/month for <br />EMPLOYEES requesting individual health insurance and $740/month for <br />EMPLOYEES requesting and qualifying for dependent coverage for the policy <br />period January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2009. The EMPLOYER will contribute <br />50% of the deductible to a Health Savings Account (HSA) for those <br />EMPLOYEES enrolled in the High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) for the <br />policy period of January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2009. The EMPLOYER <br />will fund the start-up fee and all monthly fees associated with the Health Savings. <br />Account (HSA) for those EMPLOYEES participating in the Health Savings <br />Account (HSA). <br />17.4 Effective, upon contract ratification, EMPLOYEES would have the ability to opt <br />out of health insurance, provided proof of insurance coverage is provided from <br />the other insurance carrier.
