January 13, 2009 (Page 7 of 7) Council Member Mary Burg — Economic Develoament Commission Counamember Burg reported the next EDC meeting will be the first Tuesday m February at 7:00 an Council Member David Phifts - DODOS Commission Councilmember Phillips reported the fast planning Commission meeting of 2009 will be January AP. It was reported that the Planning Commission intends to look at the City's zoning code in 2009. Council Member Sharon Do - Public Safety Commission Councihnernber Doffing attended the API open house, and was very impressed with the organization. Gratitude was expressed to Firefighters Sanchez, Jeffries and Cameron for their dedicated services. Santa Cop volunteers were grateMy acknowledged. The next Public Safety Commission meeting will be January 28, 2009. Council Member Gina Bauman — Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission Councilmernber Bauman stated she was not in agreement with the fashion in which the two petitions in favor of the skate park were completed, reporting they were posted in an area business. A Public Hearing related to the Skate Park is scheduled for May 6, at 6:30 pm. Andy Soltvedt was the recipient of the "Horizon Award". Many new fitness classes will be offered in January. Al four neighborhood centers will be getting new flooring, and new lightweight tables. Councilmember Bauman commented on the API open house, and expressed her gratitude to the Company. _Manor Larson Mayor Larson participated as a judge in hondale High School's "Project Citizen." The retirement of Northwest Youth & Family Services preside Kaye Andrews was announced. Neighborhood meetings will begin January 29, and run four consecutive weeks.
