January 13, 2009 (Page 7 of 7) <br />Council Member Mary Burg — Economic Develoament Commission <br />Counamember Burg reported the next EDC meeting will be the first Tuesday m February at 7:00 an <br />Council Member David Phifts - DODOS Commission <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the fast planning Commission meeting of 2009 will be January AP. <br />It was reported that the Planning Commission intends to look at the City's zoning code in 2009. <br />Council Member Sharon Do - Public Safety Commission <br />Councihnernber Doffing attended the API open house, and was very impressed with the organization. <br />Gratitude was expressed to Firefighters Sanchez, Jeffries and Cameron for their dedicated services. <br />Santa Cop volunteers were grateMy acknowledged. The next Public Safety Commission meeting will <br />be January 28, 2009. <br />Council Member Gina Bauman — Parks, Recreation, and Environmental Commission <br />Councilmernber Bauman stated she was not in agreement with the fashion in which the two petitions in <br />favor of the skate park were completed, reporting they were posted in an area business. A Public <br />Hearing related to the Skate Park is scheduled for May 6, at 6:30 pm. Andy Soltvedt was the recipient <br />of the "Horizon Award". Many new fitness classes will be offered in January. Al four neighborhood <br />centers will be getting new flooring, and new lightweight tables. Councilmember Bauman commented <br />on the API open house, and expressed her gratitude to the Company. <br />_Manor Larson <br />Mayor Larson participated as a judge in hondale High School's "Project Citizen." The retirement of <br />Northwest Youth & Family Services preside Kaye Andrews was announced.
