Bernhardt, based in the Washington, D.C. office of <br />LOCKRIDGE GRINDAL NAUEN P.L.L.P., came to the Federal <br />Relations Group from the St. Paul office of Minnesota <br />Congresswoman Betty McCollum. Ms. Bernhardt assists clients in thl <br />areas of energy and the environment, agriculture, financial services, <br />and rural economic development. Ms. Bernhardt previously served in <br />the Consumer Division of the Minnesota Attorney General's office a <br />a Mediator and Citizen Assistant Analyst, advocating for consumers' rights on issues ranging from <br />healthcare to identity theft. As a regional field organizer for a state-wide race as part of the <br />Minnesota DFL's coordinated campaign, she has extensive experience working with key elected <br />officials and grassroots community activists. An experienced writer, she has contributed to the <br />Minnesota Women's Press bi-weekly newspaper. Growing up in rural, southern Minnesota, Ms. <br />Bernhardt comes from a long line of politically active farmers. A native of Trimont, Minnesota, she <br />earned a Bachelor of Arts degree, magna cum laude, from Mount Holyoke College, South Hadley, <br />Massachusetts, where she was awarded the Minnie Ryan Dwight Journalism Prize. <br />
