January 27, A <br />to address. A copy of the Purchasing Card Policy along with a Chart of Accounts was provided in the <br />council's packet A complete overview of the entire process was explained. Councilmember Burg stated <br />she appreciated the explanation provided. Councilmember Bauman questioned the reason so many <br />employees have a purchasing card, and what the eligibility requirements are. <br />Mr. Lotter responded the cards are issued to personnel who regularly make purchases. The purchasing <br />Card has been determined to be the most efficient way to pay expenses. Councilmember Bauman <br />questioned the efficiency of processing both purchasing cards and check requests. Councilmember <br />Bauman agrees the checks and balances are acceptable, but feels the spending is excessive. Manager <br />Lotter responded that he feels overall this is a good program, and if there was disagreement with the <br />program, council could discuss at a future worksession. Councilmember Bauman thanked Mr. Lotter for <br />the presentation, and answering her questions. Mayor Larson commented that he reviewed the receipts <br />and statements and was comfortable with the process. <br />No action taken. <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />City Manager -Dean Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter reported the Teambuilding retreat is scheduled for January 290' and January 30'u'. <br />The Teamster negotiations will be entering mediation. Neighborhood meetings are approaching, and will <br />be held 4 consecutive weeks, the first one will be at Totem Pole Park at 6:30, January 29, 2008. The <br />agenda will focus on various comparisons with other comparable cities in the area. <br />. CoundImember Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the next Economic Development Commission meeting is scheduled for <br />February 3'd at 7:00 am. <br />Coundlmember David Pln'Ui <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the Planning Commission will likely be looking at the City's cement <br />Zoning Code and Comprehensive Plan, in the event that planning applications decrease. The Northwest <br />Quadrant Financial Task Force will be meeting February 2`u to review the recent Market Study <br />conducted. <br />Coundlmember Sharon Doffing <br />Councilrnember Doffing reported there will be a joint meeting February 9" with the Northwest Quadrant <br />Financial Task Force to review the recent Market Study conducted. The next Public Safety Commission <br />meeting is scheduled for January 28th. At 6:30 at the Public Safety Center. Congratulations were extended <br />to Officer Trevor Hamdorf on his recent completion of his Master's degree. <br />Coundlinember Gina Bau nam <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the Park & Recreation & Environmental conumission will next meet <br />February 3'd at 7:00 pm, the trails sub-corrirnittee will meet at 5:30 on February 3'd. The spring brochure <br />will be delivered to residents the week of February 91h. The annual spring tree sale will be featured in the <br />brochure, as well as on the City's web site.
