Approximately one hundred old photos
have been copied and filed.

o Establishing a photographic record of buildings with historic signif-
icance. We have thus far covered fourteen such buildings and sites.

o An oral history committee has been set up to interview early
residents and record their memories and impressions of early New
Brighton. Two tape recorders have been obtained, procedures
established and training meetings held. Actual interviews will be
conducted starting in January.

o The society spearheaded and sponsored, along with the New Brighton
Jacees, the first annual New Br!ghton Stockyard Days to emphasize the
part that the railroads and stockyards played in the formation of the
city of New Brighton.

o writing of a book covering the history of New Brighton is in the
works.

During the coming year the society will be continuing these projects. In
addition we hope to update our slide show on early New Brighton and to lay the
groundwork for establishing a museum.

We will be pleased to appear before the council to review our progress and
discuss our plans.

~i erely,
V, /J,' .'
~D~
, Bromande r
IS~ ice President
