NEW BRIGHTON PARKS, RECREATION, AND ENVIRONMENTAL COMMISSION <br />lfadolffl" MINUTES <br />the city that works fr)r you <br />February 4, 2009 <br />(Minutes in their entirety are kept on DVD at City Hall) <br />Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order by Chair Frischman at 6:30 p,m. <br />II. <br />Roll Call <br />Members present: Commissioners Budzynski, Frischman, Harreld, Heinrich, Meyer, Norton, <br />Samuelson <br />Members absent: Commissioner Trevorrow and Council Liaison Gina Bauman <br />III. <br />Minutes of January 7, 2009 <br />MOTION BY HEINRICH, SECONDED BY MEYER, TO APPROVE THE MINUTES OF <br />JANUARY 7, 2009 AS SUBMITTED. MOTION CARRIED. <br />IV. <br />Trails Committee Update — Adam Parker; Chair <br />Adam Parker was introduced as the new Chair of the Trails Committee. Adam stated he has been <br />on the committee for over a year. At the meeting tonight an Irondate student came in and gave a <br />presentation and made a case for making Long Lake Road safer for biking. We will be pursuing <br />some of his suggestions with City staff and trying to get them implemented. We also talked <br />about potential crossings to the east. We are working with Ramsey County. We will continue to <br />work on making trails and paths safer in the City. We are hoping to make more strides in the <br />next 2-3 years. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting. The Committee meets 5:30-6:30pm <br />at City Hall on the First Wednesday of the month. Anyone interested can come and attend a <br />meeting. The next meeting is March 4tn at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. <br />V. <br />Correspondence <br />A. Council Report — Council Member Gina Bauman <br />No Report given. <br />Harreld asked if we can expect a Council report anytime in the future. Breuer <br />stated she will check on it. Harreld stated it would be helpful to receive feedback <br />from the Council. Breuer stated new appointments of Commissioners will be <br />made in March and new appointees would start in April. <br />VI. <br />Public "caring <br />A. None Scheduled <br />VII. <br />New Business <br />A. Staff Report — Pat Tuma <br />Breuer introduced Pat Tuma, the Recreation Program Manager, she will share <br />about her programs and the division as well. <br />0 Pat Tuma gave her presentation to the Commission. <br />
