<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />January 26, 1982 <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Janecek to <br />waive the reading and hold the first reading <br />of an ORDINANCE REZONING CERTAUJ PROPERTIES <br />WITHIN GROUP III IN 'I'HE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON. <br /> <br />Mr. Carl Sandburg, Vice President of Bermel <br />Smaby, was present and read the letter to <br />the City Council. Mr. Sandburg also stated <br />that they felt the highest and best use for <br />this property is an office as now 8xists~nd <br />that a down zoning from office classific~tion <br />to housing classification would bring a greater <br />economic loss to the community. Mr. Sandburg <br />also indicated that he agreed with the philosophy <br />of not encouraging strip development along <br />Silver Lake Road but that Bermel Smaby has <br />already made a high investment in their <br />particular property. <br /> <br />Mr. Harry Yurista, 331 Silver Lake Road, <br />indicated that his property was one of those <br />proposed to be down zoned from commercial <br />to residential and that his property had <br />been previously assessed for storm sewer purposes <br />at a cOIT@ercial rate and not a residential <br />rate as the zoning is now proposed. Mr. Yurista <br />stated that if all the facts are c?nfirmed <br />he intends to file a claim for reimbursement <br />of previously paid assessments. <br /> <br />Vote on motion. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Mayor with consent of the Council <br />directed receipt of a letter from <br />Dynamic Designers. <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke to <br />initiate the Group IV Cornprehenslve <br />Rezonings and to include the consideration <br />of the rezoning of Block 3, 1st Addition <br />to New Brighton from R-l to R-1A. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt <br />to waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT NTD DESIG1'TING <br />AREAS OF SPECIAL SIGNAGE CONTROL. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried. <br /> <br />Motion by Harcus, seconded by Schmidt to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />r'lJAKING McCULLOUGH & COMPANY SUBSTI'I'UTE <br />RT:OEVELOPER. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br />R-123, Group IV <br />Comprehensive Rezoning <br />Report No. 82-20 <br /> <br />Designation of <br />Areas of Special <br />Control <br />Report No. 82-21 <br />RESOLUTION #2553 <br /> <br />Substitute Redeveloper <br />l'1cCullough & Co. <br />Report No. 82-22 <br />RESOLUTION #2554 <br />
