~~...,1 MEMORANDUM I DATE September 15, 1981 TO Honorable Mayor and City Co u n c i 1 FROM Building Committee SUBJECT: Wine Bar Addition I As you are aware, staff had a bid opening on September 10, 1981 at 2:00 p.m. at City Hall. As you are also aware the city did not receive bids for masonary, structural steel or carpet installation. Having received no bids for these three categories the city extended the bid deadline for only those three categories until Monday, September 14, 1981 at 4:00 p.m. We received four bids for masonary at that time. Since that time, members of the bUilding committee and the architectural firm have gone through all the bids, identified the lowest responsible bidde~ and are recommending that the City Council award contracts to the fifteen contractors listed on the attached sheet in the amount of $312,381.00. A balance of approximately $43,306.00 remains to be awarded at the City Council meeting on September 22, 1981, pending clarification of material selection and installation pricing on carpet and bar equipment. Adding these two figures one arrives at a total of $355,687 which represents all structural work relating to the lounge and the package store,as well as bar equipment, prep room equipment and carpeting for both stores. Added to this figure for a total project cost are the following items: 1. Interior Furnishing And Miscellaneous Equipment For The Lounge $51 ,600 This includes: tables, chairs, casual seating, plants, planters, cash registers, misc. small bar equipment, e.g. coffee maker. 2. Miscellaneous Equipment And Improvement To Package Store. $10,000 This includes: new counters, new shelving, temporary door, ice machine, etc. I 3. General Conditions/Contingency This includes rental of trailer, cost of construction supervisor, portable toilets, e t c., con t i g e n cy to be use din the inevitable event that additional costs o c c IJ r d u r i n g con s t r-u c t ion. $25,000
