The results
of the analysis indicate that wells contain low levels of:

1, I-Dichloroethane
trans-I, 2-DichIoroethylene
1, l, I-Trichloroethane
1, 1, 2-Trichloroethylene
1, I-Dichloroethylene

The concentrations of these chemicals were detected in the
"part-per-billion" range and do not pose an acute (immediate)
health hazard. However, at the concentrations detected,
standards for chronic (long-term, lifetime or 70 years)
exposures are exceeded, at a rate of consumption of greater
than 2 liters per day.

At this time, the I'Ieal th Department is working with the City
Council and staff to define and solve the problem as soon as
possible. During the interim, some residents may wish to
secure ah alternate water source (bottled water) although
the Health Department does not feel that this action is necessary
in view of the relatively low concentrations of the chemicals
found. After review with the Minnesota Pollution Control
Agency and the Minnesota Department of Health, the City Council
concurs that no immediate action is necessary by residents.
The City has already commenced work on short and long term
possible solutions.

The City will keep you informed of further developments.
If you have further questions, please call the City Hall
at 633-1533.

By Direction of the City Council.

~" T~~

-2~

James W.
