<br />City of New Brighton <br />March 24, 1981 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Mr. & Mrs. Bill Jacobs, 1440 16A Street, spoke <br />in favor of the proposed project. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to close <br />the hearing. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />After considerable discussion the Council acted <br />in the following manner: <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to <br />waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />ORDERING IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING PREPARATION <br />OF PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS FOR STORM SEWER <br />ON 16A STREET BETWEEN LONG LAKE ROAD AND <br />14TH AVENUE NW, PROJECT #81-5, and to abandon <br />the street portion of the proposal. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Council Business <br />Bruce Medve4 representing the City's <br />insurance carrier, was present. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist to <br />order Public Officials Liability Insurance <br />through Stewart Smith, Inc. with a three (3) <br />year pre-paid premium in the amount of $7,525.00 <br />and to amend the 1981 General Fund Operating <br />Budget to include revenue of $7,525 from <br />unallocated operating reserve and to increase <br />insurance expenditures within the fund in an <br />amount of $7,525.00. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Director of Parks and Recreation was <br />present to answer questions. <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to <br />authorize the Mayor and Manager to execute <br />a Joint Planning Agreement with Mounds View <br />to provide for a 40%/60% split in expenses. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes- motion carried <br /> <br />The Director of Parks and Recreation was <br />present to answer questions. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Schmidt to <br />authorize staff to issue a purchase order <br />in the amount of $5,600.00 to Soil Exploration <br />Company contingent upon the City being able <br />to work out a proceedure policy to provide <br />a solution to the Long Lake Park petroleum <br />deposit site and to amend the 1981 General <br />Fund Operating Budget to include revenues in <br /> <br />-4.'- <br /> <br />Public Officials <br />Liability Insurance <br />Report No. 81-54 <br /> <br />Joint Planning <br />Agreement - <br />Mounds View/New <br />Brighton City <br />Forester <br />Report NO. 81-52 <br /> <br />Long Lake Petroleum <br />Deposits <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 81-30 <br />
