<br />City of New Brighton <br />April 28, 1981 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Benke <br />to waive the reading and adopt a <br />RESOLUTION ORDERING THE INSTALLATION <br />OF A STREET LIGHT ON 23RD AVENUE NW <br />BETWEEN 15TH STREET AND 17TH STREE'I' NW. <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Mid-Block Street <br />Light on 23rd Ave.NW ~; <br />Report No. 81-77 ~ <br />RESOLUTION #2447 < <br /> <br />r; <br /> <br />)'a;. <br />,- <br /> <br />The Director of Public Works reviewed <br />the contents of his report. <br /> <br />The following citizens expressed <br />concerns: <br /> <br />No Right-Hand Turn <br />Signs-Palmer Dr. at <br />Brighton Village <br />Shopping Center <br />Report No. 81-64 <br />RESOLUTION #2448 <br /> <br />~ ',) <br /> <br />Mr. Arlyn Gunderman, 1203 Highview Drive; <br />Dr. Charles Buscher, 1904 13th Street NW: <br />Mr. Charles Allen, 1373 pike Lake Drive: <br />Mr. Gordon Hedlund, 1255 Pike Lake Drive. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Those expressing concern and opposition <br />to the removal of the "No Right-Hand Turn" <br />signs on Palmer Drive stated they felt the <br />sign was necessary and effective, that the <br />sign was part of an agreement made at the <br />time of the shopping center construction, <br />and suggested that the Council consider <br />a driveway connection between the Crossroads <br />elderly housing project and the shopping center. <br /> <br />Those speaking also suggested that the <br />Council consider the installation of a "No <br />Parking" sign on the north side of 13th Street NW <br />adjacent to Pike Lake Elementary School. <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to <br />defer action on the removal of the "No Right-Hand <br />Turn" sign on Palmer Drive and to direct staff <br />to investigate and report to the Council on the <br />following items: <br /> <br />1. A driveway connection between the Crossroad's <br />project and the Brighton Village Shopping Center: <br />2. The enforceability of the current "No Right-Hand <br />Turn" sign: <br />3. The possibility of setting specific times during <br />which no right-hand turns could be made. <br /> <br />4 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Schmidt, seconded by Janecek to waive <br />the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION ORDERING THE <br />INSTALLATION OF "NO PARKING" SIGNS ON 13TH STREET NW. <br /> <br />-4- <br /> <br />';'~r.. <br />
