I

I

I

,~

Nov. 25. 1980

TOI Members of the New Brighton City Council

From: Roger Schilling

1187 Mississippi St.

References: Schilling letter --Oct 25,1980
Staff Report ---NOv 5, 1980 #80-194
City Council Report--Nov 13, 1980

Thank you for reviewing my request for N.o Parking signs. Your
analysis is right based on the information submitted. What is
needed is further explaination describing the effectiveness
of these signs.

As you stated the signs would shift the problem, no, because
the south side of the street property 120) receives sufficient
light from the street light from the yard of 120). As for the
shift of parking further to the west beyond the suggested sighs,
here again the street lighting is bright enough to discourage
parking and loitering.

As for the Long Lake Park activities I believe wost kids
will not be stopping beyond the signs in a brightly lit
section and carrying their beer up the road and into the park
area.

I sincerely believe these slgns will reduce the street activity.
As the situation presently exists the pOlice have no jurisdiction
to arrest anyone in or out of these cars.

Regards,
l
.:1""..y

.;

Reply to
file
Forward To
Hold
Agenda 1l-/1
!
Copy To

-

Other:

~i3
UEC5 'CO ·
