<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS <br /> <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br /> <br />Pursuant to notice thereof a regular meeting of the New <br />Brighton City Council was held Tuesday, February 10, 1981 <br />at 7:30 p.m. in the municipal building, 803 5th Avenue NW, <br />New Brighton, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Present: <br /> <br />Mayor James Senden, Councilmembers Bob Benke, <br />Roger Blomquist, Jeanette Janecek, Steve Schmidt <br /> <br />Absent: <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Also <br />Present: <br /> <br />John R. Grau, Acting City Manager <br />Donald L. Lais, City Attorney <br />Les Proper, Director of Public Works <br />Jim Winkels, Director of Community Development <br />Joan Archer, City Planner <br />Maurice Anderson, Director of Parks and Recreation <br />Vern Pederson, City Clerk <br /> <br />Minutes <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Schmidt to approve the <br />minutes of January 27, 1981 as presented. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Mayor with consent of the Council directed receipt <br />of the Human Rights Commission minutes of January 5, 1981 <br />as presented. <br /> <br />Special Order of Business <br />Mr. Victor Brenk, President, Basic Industries <br />Inc., 1275 Old Highway #8, presented the City <br />with a donation of $2,000 for park playground <br />or a community project. <br /> <br />Donation - Basic <br />Industries, Inc. <br /> <br />Mayor Senden accepted the donation in behalf of the <br />City and thanked Mr. Brenk for their generous donation. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Benke to <br />defer action on appointments to the <br />Police Civil Service Con@ission to <br />February 24, 1981. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Civil Service <br />Commission <br />Appointments <br /> <br />Consent Agenda <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Benke to <br />approve the following items: <br /> <br />1. Consolidated fund vouchers 51421-51444; 57959-58058 <br />2. Liquor fund vouchers 13805-13886 <br />3. Assessment Division #56445 <br />
