<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />May 27, 1980 <br /> <br />Motion by Blomquist, seconded by Schmidt <br />to find that the proposal of Charles H. <br />Johnson, et. al., meets the objectives <br />of the Downtown Development District Plan <br />and that the staff be authorized and <br />directed to negotiate the terms and <br />conditions of the Joint Planning Agreement. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Janecek, seconded by Blomquist <br />to authorize the Mayor and Manager to execute <br />the Joint Powers Agreement between the City <br />of Arden Hills and the City of New Brighton <br />to allow the City of New Brighton to inspect <br />the Minneapolis Hide and Tallow rendering <br />plant and to authorize the Mayor and Manager <br />to execute an agreement for inspection services <br />between the City of New Brighton and David <br />Fridgen, City Sanitarian. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Blomquist to <br />amend the main motion by separating the <br />question and tabling the agreement betw~en <br />the City of New Brighton and the City <br />Sanitarian pending further study to be <br />considered at the next City Council meeting, <br />June lO, 1980. <br /> <br />Vote on motion to separate the question and <br />table the agreement with the City Sanitarian. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Vote on main motion as amended. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist <br />to authorize a hotel feasibility study <br />identified as Alternative I-Phase I <br />in a letter from Laventhol and Horwath <br />dated May 19, 1980 in the amount of <br />$6,000 and to authorize a temporary <br />loan from the General Fund to the <br />Downtown Development Fund to cover the <br />construction cost and further to authorize <br />the Manager to expand the contract with <br />Barton-Aschman and Associates to allow <br />for Barton-Aschman to facilitate the <br />feasibility study for the hotel under <br />the overall direction of the City Manager. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Mr. Al DeVries was present. <br /> <br />After discussion, the Council decided <br />to take no action. <br /> <br />Joint Planning <br />Agreement - <br />Charles Johnson <br />Report No. 80-93 <br /> <br />Joint Powers <br />Agreement - <br />Arden Hills <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 80-33 <br /> <br />Hotel Feasibility <br />Study <br />Supplement to <br />Report No. 80-82 <br /> <br />Sewer Service <br />Liability - Al DeVrit <br />
