<br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />City of New Brighton <br />July 8, 1980 <br /> <br />The Director of Parks and Recreation was <br />present to answer questions. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to <br />amend the proposed resolution by adding: <br /> <br />'~HEREAS the County has been designated <br />implementing agency for regional parks <br />in Ramsey CountYi" <br /> <br />and under "NOW 'I'HEREFORE Br. IT RESOLVED" <br />to read "that the City Council of New <br />Brighton does hereby request that the <br />Ramsey County Board of Commissioners <br />inform the City whether or not the <br />Board accepts their role and responsibility <br />as the designated implementing agency of the <br />Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional Parksi <br /> <br />BE IT FUR'l'HER RESOLVED that the Board respond <br />to the City's concern for the development and <br />operation of the Long Lake/Rush Lake Regional <br />Park and identify for the City how this park <br />project may be expedited." <br /> <br />and to waive the reading and adopt a RESOLUTION <br />REGARDING RAMSEY COUNTY'S INVOLVEMENT IN LONG <br />LAKE/RUSH LAKE PARK. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Benke to set <br />a date and time for a public hearing for a <br />non-conforming use permit NC-47, Cowin <br />Steel for July 22, 1980 at 7:50 p.m. <br />3 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />The Chief of Police was present to answer <br />questions. <br /> <br />Bruce Marx, President of the New Brighton <br />Jaycees was present. <br /> <br />The Council discussed the 4th of July policing <br />in depth. <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Benke to direct <br />staff in conjunction with the New Brighton Jaycees <br />to prepare a police enforcement policy for Council <br />review before the 1981 July 4th activities. <br /> <br />Motion by Benke, seconded by Blomquist to amend <br />the above motion to include that said formal <br />police enforcement policy be included for any <br />future major civic activities within the City. <br /> <br />-3- <br /> <br />Question County <br />Position - <br />Regional Park <br />Report No. 80-117 <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2347 <br /> <br />Set Hearing <br />NC-47, Cowin Steel <br /> <br />4th of July <br />Activities Report- <br />Police <br />
