<br />City of New Brighton <br />December 11, 1979 <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />possible criteria for placing more restrictive conditions <br />on the rendering plants than what currently exists under <br />APC-9 and to report to the Council within three months. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Benke to <br />refer the question of the rendering plants testing <br />and performance data to the Commission on Environmental <br />Quality. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />Motion by Werdouschegg, seconded by Blomquist <br />to waive the reading and adopt a resolution <br />entitled RESOLUTION MAKING FINDINGS OF FACT <br />AND APPROVING APPLICATION FOR A NON-INTOXICATING <br />MALT LIQUOR LICENSE FOR BIG B's PIZZA. <br />5 ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />RESOLUTION # 2281 <br /> <br />The Mayor with the consent of the Council <br />directed receipt of the Manager's Police <br />Staffing Report. <br /> <br />Police Staffing <br />Report <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />Motion by Senden, seconded by Werdouschegg <br />to refer the Manager's Police Staffing <br />Report to the Civil Service Commission. <br />S ayes - 0 nayes - motion carried <br /> <br />~ublic Hearings <br />The Mayor with consent of the Council <br />directed receipt of a petition signed <br />by approximately 350 customers and a <br />letter from Marc VanZandt, area resident <br />and businessman, in support of a walk-on <br />bar, and that such information be filed <br />in the Robert Lee Restaurant liquor file. <br /> <br />9:02-9:16 <br />Liquor License <br />Robert Lee's <br />Restaurant <br /> <br />Frank Lunquist, 1295 Brighton Square, a <br />member of the Brighton Square Homeowners <br />Association, spoke in opposition to a <br />walk-on bar. <br /> <br />The following spoke in favor of the request: <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />George Winiecki, 2134 Silver Lake Road; <br />Jim Hughes, area resident and businessman; <br />Dan Bucholz, Executive Vice-President of the North Suburban <br />Area Chamber of Commerce; <br />John Risdall, area resident; <br />Lee Fielder, President of the New Brighton Jaycees. <br /> <br />Mayor Senden stated that it would appear that a great <br />majority of New Brighton citizens were in favor of <br />allowing an open bar at the Robert Lee Restaurant and <br />for those that had concerns, if any problems surfaced, <br /> <br />'.W' t. r_ <br />
