RESOLUTION NO <br />09-024 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUN'T'Y OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />UTION REQUESTING CONSIDERATION OF CERTAIN RAILROAD GRADE <br />CROSSING IMPROVEMENTS UNDER MNDOT'S FY 2011-2014 STATE <br />TRANSPORTATION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (STIP) <br />the City of New Brighton adopted Resolution 08-035 on March 25, 2008, which <br />I a railroad grade crossing policy; and <br />that policy identified several grade crossings in need of improvements; and <br />the City has received a request for solicitations from the Minnesota Department of <br />ition (MnDOT) for funding grade crossing improvements through the FY 2011-1024 <br />sportation Improvement Program (STIP); and <br />the City desires to take advantage of the funding opportunities under the STIP; and <br />r HE AS, the City recognizes that not all of the grade crossings identified in Resolution 08-035 <br />can bi funded under the current STIP solicitation. <br />Now J#iEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council authorizes the following: <br />City staff shall forward the following list of crossings for evaluation under the 2011- <br />2014 STIP: <br />a. Spring Creek Drive and County Road H (Minnesota Commercial Railway) <br />b. Knollwood Drive (Minnesota Commercial Railway) <br />c. Silver Lake Road (Minnesota Commercial Railway) <br />d. Long Lake Road (Minnesota Commercial Railway) <br />City staff shall report back to the City Council on whether these crossings will be <br />included in the STIP program. <br />City staff will need to identify future funding sources to pay for the City's share of <br />projects that are selected. <br />The City Council shall authorize funding of the City's share by separate resolution at <br />a future date. <br />
