ORDINANCE NO.771 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY CODE RELATED TO <br />NUISANCE GRASS AND WEEDS HEIGHT <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS that the New <br />ton Code of Ordinances is amended by amending City Code Section 17-60.1 (1) as <br />17-60.1 Definition. <br />term "weeds" shall be defined as: <br />(1) Any tall weeds or grass growing upon a lot or parcel of land to a height greater than eight <br />Such other vegetation as the City Council shall designate by resolution from time to time. (Ord. <br />549, 5-12-87; Code of 1988; Code of 2001) <br />"Weeds" do not include vegetation determined by the weed inspector to be one of the <br />(A) Wetland buffers, including drainage ponds or ditches that store or convey stormwater. <br />Wetland buffers may not exceed fifteen feet from a wetland border. <br />(B) Prairie Restoration or Reconstruction. Native prairies may not contain noxious weeds <br />or non-native plant species and maintenance must follow "Going Native: A prairie <br />restoration handbook for Minnesota landowners" copyright 2000, Minnesota Department <br />of Natural Resources. <br />(C) Raingardens.
