March 10, 2009 Page 6 of 7 <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and U tes <br />City Manse: --Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported he received a petition request fi�orn residents on 14 h Street NW to change the <br />name to Peninsula Drive. City Attomey LeFevere explained a street name is changed by ordinance at the <br />Councils' direction. City Manager Lotter rgaorted the request will likely be forwarded to the Public Safety <br />Conuxrission. A contract with the Teamsters will likely be presented at the March 24h council meeting. <br />Staffhas been working on appropriations paperwork for Senator Klobuchar and Congresswoman <br />McCollum. <br />Councilmember Mary Buri <br />Councilmember Burg reported on her recent meeting at the Cable Commission meeting, where it was <br />Reported the City received $205,000 in franchise fees last year. Residents who do not have cable were <br />encouraged to call 651-222-3333 to sign up for the free government access channel. <br />Councilmember David PlWlips <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the next Planning Comrission meeting will be March 17, code changes <br />will continue to be reviewed. <br />Councilmember Sharon Doifin� <br />Cou dmetnber Doffing reported Officer Troy Hyland will be deployed to Iraq March 23'd and expressed <br />her gratitude for his service. The Department of Public Safety is looking into purchasing video recording <br />system for patrol vehicles via grant funding.
