Chairs are selected by the commissions from those who have served at <br />least one year on the commission and have a term limit of one three year <br />period as chair. <br />LEAVES OF ABSENCE: For a variety of reasons, members of commissions may <br />need to take a leave of absence for a period of time not to exceed four months. <br />Members of any commission may apply to the city council for such leaves and they <br />may be granted at the discretion of the council <br />PARKS AND RECREATION COMMISSION: Currently performing well for the council. <br />PUBLIC SAFETY COMMISSION: Currently performing well for the council. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION: Currently performing well for the council, even when <br />the council may not agree with all of its recommendations. <br />ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMISSION: To be discussed on May Sth <br />
