Councilmember Phillips suggested including the <br />former street name on the new sign. Announcements and Updates <br />City Manaeer--Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported a meeting with the third union is scheduled May 20 to discuss <br />furlough options. An Early Retirement Incentive Program will be available for council consideration at the <br />May 2e meeting, Supervisor training was held earlier in the day. <br />Counedmember Mary Burg -Parks Recreation and Environmental Commission <br />Councilmember Burg attended the Public Hearing at the recent Parks, Recreation and Environmental <br />Commission meeting, Over 50 people were in attendance. It was stated that all in attendance wanted the park <br />to return to a safe place, and the skate park was not identified as the problem, it was a few people causing the <br />problems. Ray Tandeski held a meeting with the youth at Freedom Park to start the process of monitoring <br />themselves. The recommendation of the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Commission was to go <br />forward with VIPS working with the patrons of the park until December, at that time Council will review the <br />situation. It was reported the Parks, Recreation and Environmental Conimissioners would like to have nine <br />commissioners instead of the seven they have. Councilmember Burg attended the Town Hall meeting, and <br />shared a copy of portions of the presentation given by Director Breuer highlighting the many benefits of <br />parks and trails in the community. <br />Councilmember David P Plannm Commission <br />Co.dirnanber Phillips attended the Public Safety Conunission meeting on April 25, and reported Mayor <br />Larson will be attending the remainder of the meetings in 2009.
