Page 9 <br />Tandeski suggested there could be a competition. Frischman thought there was a <br />liability issue with the competition. Breuer stated she could look into it. There is not <br />as much liability with the Tier 1. <br />Meyer stated he wanted to thank all the residents for coming out tonight. He said he <br />really wants to compliment the young people on coming. Mark and Tyler have great <br />futures ahead of them. He applauded all the young people for being here. He <br />encouraged adult residents to talk with the young people in the park. He talked to <br />many of them. They were all willing to talk with him. <br />Frischman stated they need to formulate some kind of recommendation to go to <br />Council. <br />Heinrich inquired if we will continue to allow bikers up there even though itis posted <br />no bikers. The skateboarders said they did not have an issue with bikers being on the <br />skateboard park. Tandeski said a young man on a bike was getting warmed up before <br />going on the course which he said was up on County Road D and Old Hwy 8. <br />Tandeski heard it is an unhealthy environment. <br />The focus is the skateboard park. Do we want to continue to see the skateboard park <br />at Freedom Park. <br />Harreld felt we need to document things so we know if the effort put forth is <br />successful. Some of the solutions have already been put in place and a problem <br />solved. But we need to record these so we know when something is working. <br />Samuelson stated we have been focusing mostly on the skateboard park, but it sounds <br />like the entire park needs a good make -over. <br />Norton stated most question whether removing the skateboard park would solve the <br />problems in the park. We have the problem and the skateboard park but they are not <br />necessarily the same issues It is just in the same location. <br />Trevorrow, suggested that we keep the skateboard park. We would like to bring youth <br />into it. Correct any safety issues. Revisit at the end of the season. Keep the dialogue <br />open with the residents. <br />Frischman stated Tyler mentioned several things one that the leaders would attend <br />PREC meetings. That may be a good way to measure things, if they attend each <br />meeting. We have behavior issues that need to be addressed. She did not feel it was <br />necessary to hold another public hearing. <br />Breuer stated it could be put on the November 4th or December 2nd agenda for <br />discussion and you could decide later if you wanted to hold a public hearing. <br />Breuer thanked Ray Tandeski for spearheading the meetings with the youth. Sandy <br />would like to keep in touch with them and perhaps the residents and hold monthly <br />meetings. <br />
