• <br />0 <br />• Tom Griffin will be the new SRO at the Area Learning Center <br />• Firefighter Jeff Budnick was named the Firefighter of the Year <br />Council Liaison <br />Council Report <br />Council Representative Phillips noted the following items: <br />• Council Member discussed the $400,000 budget deficit and the potential shortfall of <br />revenue from building permits. Two staff positions have been eliminated to assist <br />with the shortfall. Solutions include possible furloughs of city employees and the <br />fleet and non fleet budgets will be reviewed. <br />• The 2010 budget will have a similar if not more significant budget; shortfall and <br />would be compounded if cuts are not made in 2009. <br />• Discussed working on federal stimulus funds to assist with the northwest quadrant <br />project including the Mayor's visit to Washington, D.C. <br />n1rl R17Q7nPCC <br />Council Member Phillips led the discussion and asked members about their conflicts with <br />moving to Tuesdays. Council Member Phillips added that Council members really want <br />to change the night due to schedules but could rotate members if necessary. <br />After discussion, Council Member Phillips decided to continue the meetings on the last <br />Wednesday of the month thru June and will put off the decision until the September <br />meeting. <br />New Business <br />Election of Chair <br />CommissionerWoods nominated Commissioner Kerns to be re-elected and was seconded <br />by Commissioner Elwell. Commissioner Bredenbeck then motioned to close the <br />nominations and to elect Commissioner Kerns. Commissioner Woods seconded the <br />motion and it passed unanimously. Congrats Bill! <br />Adjourn <br />Commissioner Allen motioned to adjourn the April PSC meeting; seconded by <br />Commissioner Woods. The meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm. <br />
