RESOLUTION No. <br />09-039 <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />A RESOLUTION ESTABLISHING A STUDY GROUP ON TEMPORARY SIGNS <br />mm, the City Council has identified that the existing temporary sign regulations are not <br />followed throughout the community, and <br />EAS, the City Council met at a work session, where the notion of amending the <br />ary sign regulations took place, and concluded that a study group on temporary signs <br />be established, and <br />the purpose of this study group shall be to advise the City Council on the <br />placement, and permitting of temporary signs throughout the city, and <br />[EREAS, the duties and responsibilities of the study group shall be to: <br />I _ Review Chapter 9 of the Zoning Code, as it pertains to temporary signs. <br />2. Review how temporary signs are currently being used throughout the community. <br />3. Advise the City Council on appropriate standards for regulating temporary signs. <br />4. Raise issues and concerns for city staff, the Planning Commission and the City Council <br />to consider regarding sign related activities. <br />5. The study group shall meet on a schedule approved by the city Council. <br />6. Perform other duties as directed by the City Council. <br />w, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council as follows: <br />1. The size of the study group shall consist of seven members. <br />2. The study group shall consist of representation of both residents and business owners <br />of New Brighton. <br />3. If a member resigns prior to concluding the work of the study group, the City Council <br />may appoint a new member to fill the vacancy. <br />4. If the study group is eliminated by action of the City Council, the members' terms are <br />ended as of the date of the City Council action. <br />5. The study group chair shall be the designated contact person to the staff liaison. <br />6. The staff liaison for the study group shall be the City Planner. <br />7. The study group shall meet (at a minimum) one time a month during its existence. <br />8. The study group shall meet for a period of time not to exceed one year. <br />
