June 23, 2009 <br />Motion by Councihnember Burg, seconded by Councilmember Phillips to waive the reading and <br />approve the Consent Agenda as presented. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Public Hearin;` <br />None <br />Council Business <br />1. Discuss motion to direct staff to prepare list of City owned properties for the Council to consider, <br />and possibly direct staff to prepare for sale. <br />CouncilmemN r Doffing would like to explore the possibility of alternative revenue trough the sale of vacant <br />City owned properties. The financial advantages were explained, first with the sale of the properties, second <br />by the taxes paid and third with building permit revenues. Councailmernber Bauman requested the list <br />include any other City owned property that is currently being used by other groups. <br />Motion by Councilmember Doffing, seconded by Counalmember Phillips to direct staff to prepare a <br />list of City owned properties, and have available for the July 7" worizsession. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports, Announcements and Updates <br />City Manner --Dean Lotter <br />Mr. Lotter reported the recent meeting with neighboring agencies was worth the time and effort, and he will <br />likely present the information at an upcoming Mayor and Managers meeting. A meeting was held with the <br />three unions to further discuss furloughs and Early Retirement Incentive Programs; the Memorandum of <br />Understanding from the Sergeant's Union was approved as part of the consent agenda. <br />Councihnember Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman had nothing to report. <br />Councilmember David Phillips <br />Councilmeanber Phillips reported there was not a Planning Commission in June due to lack of development <br />applications. Also reported was the approval of a Temporary Sign Study Croup on tonight's consent <br />agenda. <br />Mayor Larson <br />Mayor Larson reported that on June 19th4 the Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run was routed <br />through New Brighton with Officer Ted Layton, Detective Mitch Singer and Officer Trevor Hamdorf <br />participating in the New Brighton leg.
