July 14, 2009 <br />Director of Community Development Grant Femelius clarified the earlier donation fiom RMG, is from <br />Residential Mortgage Group, not Risdall Marketing Group. <br />John Risdall and Heather Warnecke representing Risdall Marking Group gave an overview of the project, <br />explaining there would be a three phase approach; Discovery Phase, Strategy Phase, and Identity Phase. <br />Motion by Councilmember Burg seconded by Coundlmember Doffing to accept the proposal by <br />Risdall Marketing Group for marketing assistance in the Northwest Quadrant <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays, Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison RepoM Announcements and U tes <br />City Man er-Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter reported worksession summaries will be forthcoming. Community Development <br />Director Femelius has been working with the transition from Krass Monroe to Ehlers. Staff has been <br />attempting to meet with property owners on County Rd H and Silver Lake Road to discuss right-of-way <br />issues related to the installation of a traffic light. <br />Councilmember Gina Bauman <br />Councilmember Bauman reported the council will be soliciting applications from interested residents and <br />business representatives to serve on the EDC commission. The commission will be comprised of nine <br />members, with a mix of residents and business representatives. <br />Councilmember David Phillips <br />Councilmember Phillips reported the next Planning Commission will be July 21, 2009. <br />_Mayor Larson <br />Mayor Larson reminded the community to register their National Night Out event with the Public Safety <br />Department. National Night Out is Tuesday, August 4' The Quarterly Policy Docket meeting was <br />rescheduled -to Tuesday, July 21, 5:00 pn- <br />Councilmember Mary Burg <br />Councilmember Burg reported the Parks; Recreation and Environmental Commission did not meet in July, <br />and will next meet August 5h. It was reported that some residents have expressed concern with the possible <br />ceasing of some senior programs. Councilmernber Burg assured residents drat the budget process has just <br />began, and there is no cause for concern, until later in the budget process. <br />Councihnember Sharon DoiCmg <br />Councilmember Doffing expressed her thanks to City Staff for working with Excel Energy to address the <br />problem in an area of the City with power fluctuation. Allina Medical has launched a "Heart safe <br />Community" initiative, where all the AED units in the community will be registered.
