Also to
approve Change Order 1 in the amount of $1,759.50 which is included in Partial Payment 1.
Legislative History: The City Council ordered Project 09-3 on April 28, 2009 and awarded a contract
to Ellingson Companies in the amount of $180,090.04 on May 26, 2009.
Financial Impact: Please see attached payment breakdown for details.
Explanation: This project consists of the relining of Lift Station 7 located at 650 Cleveland Avenue
and the installation of approximately 1,955 feet of sanitary sewer forcemain to replace the existing pipe
between Lift Station 7 and Stowe Avenue.
Change Order 1 is the upgrading of the 6 inch HDPE forcemain pipe from DR17 to DR 1.1. DR 11 is a
stronger pipe and can be pulled a farther distance therefore reducing the number of jacking pits needed
which reduces pavement and boulevard restoration. Less jacking pits also allow for the project to be
completed quicker with less disruption to the neighborhood and general public.
Costs and Funding: This project is to be funded from the Sanitary Sewer Improvement fund.
Grant M.lWyffels, PIE.
Director of Public Works
Attachment
I:\COUNCIUREPORTS\2009\Public Works\8-25-09 09-3 Partial Paymcnt I and CO I CR.doc
