Lotter, City Manager <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report Ed Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Motion to Approve the Participation Agreement between Northwest Youth and Family Services <br />and the City of New Brighton. <br />History: <br />The City of New Brighton has developed a long standing relationship with Northwest Youth and <br />Family Services (NYFS) over the years. NYFS is a non-profit social service agency that serves <br />students and families in Independent School Districts 621, 623, and 282. By entering into this <br />agreement, the City of New Brighton would continue to provide social and financial support for <br />the programs that are being offered by NYFS. The length of the proposed agreement would be <br />from January 1, 2010 through December 31, 2014. <br />Financial Impact: <br />The City's proposed contribution to NYFS for 2010 is $34,538. This is the same contribution <br />that the City of New Brighton made to NYFS in the 2009. In future years, the base amount will <br />be annually adjusted for inflation/deflation by using the Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area <br />Consumer Price Index for all urban consumers (CFI -U). Future adjustments shall not exceed 3% <br />(plus or minus) in a given year. <br />Mr. Jerry Hromatka from Northwest Youth and Family Services will be in attendance at the <br />October 27`x' City Council meeting to address any questions or concerns that the City Council <br />mayJiavt regarding the propgsed agreement. <br />Dean R.
