citiy <br /> j NW Report Number 09-263 <br /> BRIG Agenda Section VI-3 <br /> the city that works , ,. %nri Council Meeting Date November 9, 2009 <br /> REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br /> ITEM DESCRIPTION: CONSIDERATION OF PARTIAL PAYMENT 18 AND CHANGE <br /> ORDER 6 TO PROJECT 07-3, OLD HIGHWAY 8 NW RECONSTRUCTION <br /> DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: w <br /> CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br /> No comments to supplement this report Comments attached <br /> Recommendation: To approve contract artial Payment 18 in the amount of$20,191.02 and Change <br /> Order 6 to Project 07-3, Old Highway NW Reconstruction to North Pine Aggregate, Inc. <br /> Legislative History: Project 07-3 consists of the reconstruction of Old Highway 8 NW from I-694 to <br /> the Long Lake Regional Park entrance. The City Council awarded a contract to North Pine Aggregate <br /> on June 12, 2007. <br /> Financial Impact: Please see attached payment breakdown for details. <br /> Explanation: This payment includes the reduction of the project retainage from 5 percent to 1 percent, <br /> Change Order 6, and the final street striping. <br /> Change Order 6 adds two items to the project, both initiated by the City. One is the removal and <br /> disposal of wood timbers that were illegally dumped in the storm water pond on the old Co-op site. <br /> Item 1 cost is $180.00. Item 2 of Change Order 6 was the addition of irrigation to the two raised <br /> medians in Old Highway 8 NW. The City requested the Contractor install the irrigation to assist in <br /> watering the newly planted trees. This relieves park maintenance from watering the trees by tanker <br /> truck freeing them up to do other work. The cost of the irrigation is $3,520.00. <br /> The total cost of Change Order 6 is $3,700.00 and is included in Partial Payment 18. <br /> Costs and Funding: The construction portion of this project is being funded from a combination of <br /> funding sources including a Mn/DOT grant, EPA grants, Municipal State Aid funds, Ramsey County <br /> Cooperative Agreement funds, City Utility funds, and TIF Bond proceeds as outlined in the Feasibility <br /> Report. <br /> Grant M.
