Lotter, City Manager CITY MANAGER'S No comments toelement this aC.. omments attached At the October 27, 2009 Worksession: 1. Council interviewed the second of two Planning Commission candidates and decided to appoint Verne McPherson to the planning Commission. 2. Council reviewed and continued discussion on the FSC Roof. Staff provided updates on the discussions with CTV and a library option. Staff reported that Tnspec was encouraging the City to bid the roof project since the bidding environment was so competitive right now. Council wanted to move forward with bidding the roof, but wanted to add a possible alternate bid. Staff will be bringing this information back to Council. 3. Council met with representatives of Lockgridge Grindal Nauen. Lockgridge is a federal lobbying group that the Council hired to secure federal dollars for additional work in the NWQ. Council expressed their dissatisfaction with how Lockgridge updates the Council on City interestes. Lockgridge committed to bettering their communications and tailoring them to the Council's needs. At the November 9, 2009 Worksession: 1. Council discussed 2010 utility rates and the 2010 operating budget and corresponding tax levy. Council directed staff to come back with a variety of scenarios looking at a 0%, 1%, 1.5% and a 2% levy. Council directed the manager to create a memo and send it out to Council for Council feedback prior to the December 1, 2010 budget hearing. Dean R.
