%Of <br />am <br />tint: c16y that works for you <br />Proclamation <br />Whereas Steve Larson is a long term resident of the City of New Brighton, and has served his local <br />community through his memberships in the New Brighton Historical Society, New Brighton <br />Eagles Club, New Brighton Sportsmen's Club, District 621 School committees, Healthy <br />Youth Coalition, Northwest Youth and Family Services, Jaycees, and St. John's Catholic <br />Church; and <br />Whereas Steve Larson entered elected public service for the City of New Brighton in 1988 when he <br />was elected Councilmember and continued to serve until 2000; and <br />Whereas He was called to a greater leadership position by his community in 2000 when he was <br />elected Mayor for the first of five terms; and <br />Whereas He has served the greater New Brighton community through his participation on the <br />League of Minnesota Cities, North Metro Mayors Association, I -35W Corridor Coalition, <br />Metro Cities, and National League of Cities, and <br />Whereas Steve Larson's name has become synonymous with "respected leader, promoter of the <br />public good, firm and steadfast, trustworthy, devoted to community causes, defender of <br />ideals, unshakeable allegiance, reliable, undeviating commitment to New Brighton'; and <br />Whereas Because of his tenure, New Brighton's citizens enjoy safe water, an annual Town Hall <br />Meeting, golf course, excellent park & recreational opportunities, an Antique Car Run and <br />historic Stockyard Days, a strong infrastructure, strong & diversified housing stock, fiscal <br />strength, a beautiful downtown and successful business corridor, significant redevelopment <br />and new development, a confidence about public safety, and a quality of life second to <br />none in the area; and <br />Whereas Steve Larson's leadership has inspired his staff, colleagues and community volunteers to <br />make New Brighton the "preferred place to live, work and do business",, <br />Now, therefore, be it resolved that Thursday, December 17, 2009 be declared <br />"Steve Larson Day" <br />in the City of New Brighton. <br />IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set <br />my hand and caused the Sea! of the City of New <br />Brighton, IWnnesota to be affixed this 81 day of <br />December, 2009. <br />irono ng - ctang ayor <br />9 <br />
