November 9, 2009 <br />subject to consideration of advisory comments. Additionally, the Council discussed <br />revisions to the plan at a work session on September 29, 2009. Staff has implemented the <br />advisory comments recommended by the Metropolitan Council as well as the latest <br />revisions recommended by the City Council. Following Council adoption of the <br />2030 New Brighton Comprehensive Plan Update, staff will prepare hard copies for <br />distribution to the Council, Commissions, City staff, adjacent cities, Ramsey County and <br />the library. <br />Councilmember Doffing expressed her appreciation for the effort put forward in <br />completing the comprehensive plan, and suggested striking the sentence that suggests <br />that there will be future redevelopment efforts considered in a future plan. <br />Motion by Councilmember Doffing, seconded by Councilmember Phillips to adopt <br />the resolution approving the 2030 New Brighton Comprehensive. Plan Update as <br />amended by Councilmember Doffing. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays — Motion Carried <br />2 Consideration of adoption of a Military Leave policy. <br />City Manager Lotter presented council with a policy, where the council would consider on <br />a case by case basis, authorizing the City to pay the difference between the military pay <br />and the civilian pay. Mayor Larson shared he learned through the League of Minnesota <br />Cities that other cities have this policy in effect. <br />Motion by Councilmember Doffing, seconded by Mayor Larson to adopt the Military <br />leave Policy as presented by City Manager Lotter. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays -- Motion Carried <br />Motion by, Mayor Larson seconded by Councilmember Doffing to approve the <br />Military pay for officer Troy Hyland. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays — Motion Carried <br />3.
