Jacobson, Director of Public Safety <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this rcpori— L., � Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />Recognize former Commissioner .loan Kelly for her service to the City of New Brighton as a <br />longtime member of the Public Safety Commission <br />Legislative History: <br />Ms. Kelly was the last remaining original member of the Public Safety Commission beginning in <br />1994. <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br />Explanation: <br />Ms. Joan Kelly resigned from the Public Safety Commission effective November 15, 2009. Ms. <br />Kelly was an original member of the Commission beginning in 1994 and has served as an active <br />member since that time. Ms. Kelly has been a part of several initiatives to include serving on <br />the lluman Rights and Traffic Calming subcommittees, participating in initiatives such as Heart <br />Safe Communities, and, was a member of the 2001 Committee that crafted Public Safety's <br />current Mission Statement. Ms. Kelly has also participated in numerous programs to include <br />Crime Watch, National Night Out, Santa Cop, and, many more.
