Of Report Number 10-009 <br />rw <br />Agenda Section VI-6 <br />Council Meeting Date January 12, 2010 <br />the city that works for you <br />REQUEST FOR COUNCIL CONSIDERATION <br />ITEM DESCRIPTION: Acknowledge and Accept Change for the Better Donations Received in 2009 <br />I�DEPARTMENT HEAD'S APPROVAL: /)i,, <br />9 <br />CITY MANAGER'S APPROVAL: <br />No comments to supplement this report T�l Comments attached <br />Recommendation: <br />To waive the reading and adopt the Resolution Acknowledging and Accepting Change for the Better <br />Donations Received in 2009, <br />Legislative History: <br />None <br />Financial Impact: <br />None <br />Explanation: <br />Minnesota Statutes require all donations to the City be accepted by Council resolution. <br />Throughout the year, the City receives miscellaneous donations from its "Change for the Better" <br />program. Participants in this program authorize the City to round up their quarterly utility bills to the <br />nearest dollar or $10, or add a fixed amount to their bill. The "change" collected in 2009 is designated <br />for improvements and enhancements to City parks.
