CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />09-067 <br />A RESOLUTION STATING THAT THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON HEREBY <br />ACCEPTS THE TERMS OUTLINED IN THE GRANT APPLICATION MATERIALS, <br />AND AUTHORIZES THE CITY MANAGER AND MAYOR TO EXECUTE GRANT <br />AGREEMENTS WITH THE COUNTY. <br />WHEREAS, Active Living Ramsey County! is a partnership dedicated to creating and promoting <br />environments that make it safe and convenient for people to integrate physical activity into their <br />daily routine; and <br />WHEREAS, Ramsey County has created the "Pathways to Health" 1,000 Benches Program as <br />part of Active Living Ramsey County!, that seeks to install pathways to health, which are <br />networks of benches that link local destinations, and which are geared to people that are not <br />typically very active; and, <br />WHERES, The Ramsey County Board of Commissioners has approved funding for the "Pathways <br />to Health" 1,000 Benches Program, and has funds available through a grant process to match the <br />cost of local pathways up to $600 per installed bench; and WHEREAS, The City of New <br />Brighton desires to implement a pathway to health; and <br />WHEREAS, The City of New Brighton has secured funding commitments from Park Dedication <br />Fees and a DNR Local Trails Connections Grant to pay for the local match for a bench project. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT <br />RESOLVED, The City New Brighton hereby approves and authorizes submission of an <br />application for a pathway for the 1,000 Benches program. <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, The City of New Brighton hereby accepts <br />the terms outlined in the grant application materials, and authorizes the City Manager and Mayor <br />to execute grant agreements with the County. <br />Adopted this 27 day of October, 2009. <br />Daniel A.- Mauws <br />Director -of' inane and Support Services <br />-41AOAZICIA <br />Steve Larson, Mayor <br />Dean R.
