December 1, 2009 Page 2 of 2 <br />Bob Hildreth (1423 19th Ave NW) commented on the excessive personnel costs. Mr. Hildreth <br />suggested council consider the needs verses the wants in determining the budget. Mayor Larson <br />offered some clarification on salary information. <br />Marlen Carlson (1903 291h Ave.) questioned if there would be a reduction in the budget as a result of <br />the lower fuel costs. Also he suggested there be a reduction in the Community Development and <br />Engineering because of the decrease in building permit revenue. <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to close the Public <br />Hearing. <br />5 Ayes- 0 Nays, Motion carried <br />Councilmember Phillips reported all salaries have been frozen for 2010, and by not filling vacant <br />positions until April a $90,000 gap remains. Mr. Phillips proposed a 0% increase using part of the <br />$390,000 unassigned. <br />Councilmember Doffing conquered. <br />Councilmember Burg questioned the effect of not having sufficient funds in the future. <br />Councilmember Bauman reported she is in favor of a 0% increase, and would prefer contracting <br />forestry service out. <br />Councilmember Doffing encouraged council to consider the impact of not filling positions that <br />provide necessary services to our residents. <br />Adiournment <br />Motion by Councilmember Phillips, seconded by Councilmember Bauman to adjourn the meeting. <br />Meeting adjourned at 7:41 pm. <br />ATTEST: <br />Daniel A.
