Special Use Permit Application <br />833 SW Third Street #1 <br />"Brighton Unique Auto" <br />automotive detailing, service & sales <br />My name is Abdallah Kadid. I came to the United States from Lebanon nearly ten years ago, <br />and I am proud to be a U.S. citizen. For the past six years I have been living in New Brighton <br />with my wife, Annmarie Livingston, and our two children. Annmarie grew up in New Brighton, <br />and her father served on the Planning Commission for more than 20 years. Our son attends St. <br />John the Baptist school, and we are members of St. John church. We love the New Brighton <br />area — it is a great place to live and to raise a family. <br />I currently work for AT&T Mobile, and Annmarie works for Office Depot. We used to own two <br />businesses in Minneapolis, and for the past couple of years we have wanted to start a business in <br />New Brighton. We want to provide a needed service in a location that is convenient for our <br />customers, and have a business that our kids can participate in as they get older. I have always <br />had a passion for cars, and I love working with people, so we have decided on a business that fits <br />all those things perfectly. <br />• Brighton Unique Auto will offer full service automotive detailing and minor repair, as well as <br />automotive brokerage and sales services. We have found a great location at 833 SW Third Street <br />#1, off of Old Highway 8, in a commercial/industrial development of four long buildings. The <br />unit we are leasing is in the first building from Old Highway 8, on the end of the building <br />adjoining Third Street and farthest from the mobile home park, across the street from the back of <br />the Business Data Record Services warehouse. The back of the unit has an overhead entry door <br />for vehicles, with 3,000 square feet of space inside. <br />Access to the business is quick and easy from Old Highway 8 and Third Street. There is plenty <br />of parking in front and in back of the building, with seven spaces in front and five in back <br />specifically designated for this unit. Any cars that are being detailed, worked on, or held for sale <br />will be stored inside the unit at night. Because Brighton Unique Auto will be a detailing service, <br />not a car wash, we will not have lines of traffic. The building is cement block construction, so <br />there should not be any significant increase in the amount of noise for the surrounding <br />businesses. We will not be making any changes to the exterior of the building, other than <br />installing signs on the front and the back of the unit. <br />The interior will be divided into two areas, separated by existing walls. There will be a service <br />area with pressurized water and a drain into the sewer system (existing) for detailing work and <br />light service work such as installing remote starter systems. Heavy duty washing will be done at <br />• a local car wash. Necessary utilities such as water, sewer and electricity are already in place. <br />
