ORDINANCE NO. 787 STATE OF MINNESOTA COUNTY OF RAMSEY CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON AN ORDINANCE AMENDMENT RELATED TO COMMISSIONS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON ORDAINS that the New tton Code of Ordinance is amended by amending City Code Section 2-63(5) and as follows: 2-63 Term Limits A commission or committee member that has served the maximum number of terms allowed by the City is required to take a one year break from serving on that particular commission or committee. The member may then apply for reappointment to a different commission or committee after their term limit has expired. 2-64 Chairperson Each commission shall annually recommend a chairperson to the Council for formal approval. • Council may aunoint any member. The City Council shall annually confirm a chairperson to resent each commission or committee. The chairperson will be expected to provide leadership the commission and to facilitate the conduct of regular meetings. The following criteria shall be used when selecting the chairperson. A. The member has a served a minimum of one year term on the commission. B. The member has a good attendance record and expects to be able to make all meetings while serving as chairperson. C. The member has demonstrated leadership and involvement in past activities of the commission. D. The member has demonstrated the ability to understand and further the City's overall mission, specifically relating to the commission's responsibilities. A commission or committee chair that is appointed by its members the Council shall serve __ ______-__= one years in this capacity and may be reapyointed.
