April 13, 2010 Page 6 of 7 <br />Director of Public Works Grant Wyffels reported the apparent need of repam on 7'h Street NW from <br />Silver Lake Rd to 86 Ave NW. There were twelve bids received, the Engineer's estimate was $213,724, <br />the low bidder was Rum River Contracting Co, with a bid of $165,994.60. 7`'' Street NW is a <br />Municipal State Aid Street and eligible for state aid funding. This project will be funded <br />from Municipal State Aid funds. <br />7th Street NW was reconstructed in 1994 and scheduled to be reconstructed in 2024, but we <br />can not wait that long to make repairs. This project includes a full 2 -inch mill and overlay <br />to extend the pavement life to approximately 2024. This project also includes the <br />installation of flashing crosswalk lights at the intersection of 7d' Street NW and 23`d Avenue <br />NW at Highview Middle School. <br />If this project is approved, the approval for the installation of these <br />subject of the next City Council business agenda item. <br />Motion by Councibmember Phillips, seconded by Couneffni9mb <br />and adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract fo>r City <br />and Overlay to the lowest responsible bidder, Rum River Conti <br />$165,994.60. <br />5 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />4.
