CITY OF NEW BRIGHTON <br />COUNTY OF RAMSEY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br />r•.r��•ni�ttic•����rj��aa►zn <br />A RESOLUTION OF SUPPORT FOR THE APPLICATION <br />OF THE CITY OF ST. PAUL AND RAMSEY COUNTY <br />FOR A GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATIONS <br />AND INFORMATION ADMINISTRATION <br />WHEREAS, the National Telecommunications and Information Administration ("NTW) <br />has )een given authority to grant funds for communication facility construction under the <br />Broalband Technology Opportunities Program CBTOP") of the American Recovery and <br />Re'Reb r restment Act ("ARRA") of 2009; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of St. Paul and Ramsey County propose to apply for a grant from the <br />to support the installation of a fiber optic, dual conduit broadband infrastructure to meet the <br />of the City of St. Paul, Ramsey County and other public partners; and <br />WHEREAS, the installation of the proposed fiber optic infrastructure would facilitate <br />nications among public facilities of the City of St. Paul and Ramsey County, and <br />WHEREAS, such facilities may also be made available to other public agencies, such as the <br />New Brighton, to improve connectivity of communications between public facilities; and <br />WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of New Brighton has determined that the <br />ction of such facilities is in the best interest of the public; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of New Brighton will continue to discuss with Ramsey County and <br />the ity of St. Paul whether such facilities may be made available for use by the City of New <br />Briton on terms and conditions that are acceptable to the City of New Brighton and in the best <br />intei t st of its citizens. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of New <br />n, Minnesota as follows: <br />1. The City Council supports the application of the City of St. Paul and Ramsey County <br />for the NTIA grant for the installation of such fiber optic infrastructure. <br />re) 0aN A101C1 <br />
