)NEW
BRU1'PON
lltc Gd v do works Por,ww
INTEROFFICE
MEMORANDUM
To:
Janice Gundlach, City Planner
From:
Tony Paetznick, Crime Prevention Officer
Subject:
May 2010 Planning Commission Agenda Items
Date:
May 11, 2010
Ken Plan garage
Public Safety supports this project given the following existing conditions:
Penninsula Drive is a narrow roadway, (only 3c), pasted No Pankiig exists on
one side of the street, and Ne applicant's driveway is only a' in length.
Combined, these currently present a challenge in that vehicles parked in the
driveway wdended into the roadway, thereby reducing the distance for traffic
even further. Increasing the garage setback would improve this situation.
0
Fountain Terrace garages:
Public Safety supports this project given that it eliminates a blighted structure that
is need of repair and also improves sightlines across the parking lot. Further, the
increase in net parking stalls would help alleviate the ongoing on -street parking
issues associated with this roperty. Encouraging the Barrel University bus
shuttle to limit its route to Bi Street NV1 and 1 Avenue NW north of the property
would also help reduce neighborhood traffic concerns. A
Scooter Sales:
Public Safety supports this project with the recommendation to encourage then
prevention of any outdoor storage by securing the scooters with a cable or other
locking device.
