New Brighton Purchase Card System <br />■ Full and regular part-time employees are eligible to <br />receive a purchase card <br />■ Card limits are requested by the employee and <br />approved by department head, Finance Director and <br />City Manager. <br />■ New Cardholders are regcared to attend training <br />provided by the Finance Department. The training <br />reviews the City's purchasing poficyand expectations <br />regarding appropriate use of the purchasing card. <br />■ These are not credit cards; they are purchase cards that <br />can have restrictions placed on the card; limiting the <br />type of purchases and places that the card can be used. <br />New Brighton Purchase Card System <br />■ Employees must turn in statements with a receipt for <br />each and every purchase. <br />■ Supervisors or Department Heads are required to <br />review and approve each purchase. <br />■ The name of each employee can be tracked regarding <br />their specific purchases. <br />■ This level of detail provides for a high level of <br />accountability never achieved before. <br />■ Staff is currently researching different levels of <br />reporting that could be provided to the Council in the <br />future. <br />2 <br />
