No issues; nothing to report <br />Commissioner Woods miked about her first Board of Directors of League of Human <br />Rights meeting. She reported that she will serve on the Response Plan writing <br />committee. Their Response Plan ideas are things that we are already doing here in New <br />Brighton with the Human Rights Sub-Commitme. <br />ARiaa Medical <br />Mr. Dave Matteson, Mime Medical, reported they were given the "ok" to hire and <br />receives 150 applications. They interviewed 21 people for the 9 EMT jobs; most <br />applicants had prior ambulance experience. These openings were due to EMT's moving <br />up to be Paramedics. <br />Allina has hired 5 mare bike team members which will allow them to have more Allina <br />personnel out at events. Allina has posted for a Supply Specialist position, this position <br />orders all supplies for Allina. Allina has also posted a Manager position to cover the <br />Apple Valley Lakeville -Farmington mea. <br />Allina has hired an outside consultant to look at their fleet; to look at how to avoid having <br />critical breakdowns. The Arden Hills Fleet was looked at recently and it was interesting <br />to find out how many "miles" of engine wear were due to idling time. <br />Mr. Matteson reported that overall, call volume is down; however, the north metro region <br />continues m be very busy so they are looking at adding additional hours to our region. <br />Volumeers in Public Sare" (VIPS) <br />Commissioner Woods reported the following <br />e The recent blood drive resulted in 31 donors. <br />e VIPS prepaid the April Fre Department dinner; 60Has. of turkey were prepared! <br />e Sunday, May 2ne,is the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner a the Family Service Center. <br />o The VIPS are ready to assist with the triathlon though they have not been asked yet. <br />o VIPS and Reserves will be meeting to start planning for Stockyard Days. <br />o Project Lifesaver continues to go well with 22 counties now trained. New Brighton <br />has 6 Project Lifesaver clients. <br />e VIPS are goring ready to increase park patrols to provide visibility. <br />Public Safe" I Homehand Secrriry UP& <br />Director Jacobson reported the promotional process to fill the Deputy Director position <br />continues. There are 5 internal candidates; 3 Sergeants, l Deputy Fire Chief and 1 Fire <br />Captain They will be completing their full day ofusling by the and of the month. <br />
