<br />I'i' <br /> <br />4.The City Council finds the submitted plans to satisfy the criteria listed above. <br /> <br />5.Since the mid 1990s, the City of New Brighton has actively engaged in renewing the <br />downtown portion ofthe City, including constructing a new public safety center, remodeling <br />City Hall, and constructing a new family service center. <br />6.The Civic Campus is controlled by special regulations within the B-4 Downtown zoning <br />district, and within the Sign Ordinance, and is considered to be an area of "special control." <br />7. Within Section 9-041, the City Council may, by special permit, establish special regulations <br />for signs that are either more restrictive or less restrictive than those provided by this Chapter, <br />having regard for the character of the area of special control to which the special permit will <br />apply. <br />8.The Council fmds that the comprehensive sign plan is a component of the overall renewal <br />plan and is sensitive to and compatible with the unique physical circumstances that may be <br />created by the renewal project. <br />9.The "Civic Center Sign Plan" dated September 27,2005 is hereby considered to be the <br />guiding regulation for all signs in the Civic Campus. <br /> <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the application SP 08-08 is hereby approved. <br /> <br />Adopted this 27th day of September, 2005. <br /> <br />~~~ <br /> <br />Steve Larson, Mayor <br /> <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />/;J:/1'/ti? t'l" ~t~t-..L <br /> <br />Daniel A.
