Contracting, Inc. <br />Legislative History: The project plans and specifications were approved by Council on August 11 and <br />a contract was awarded to GM Contracting, Inc. on September 22, 2009. Change Order 1 reconnecting <br />the water service at the hotel parking lot was approved on November 24, 2009. Construction was <br />substantially completed in June 2010. <br />Financial Impact: The original engineer's estimate approved by the Council when ordering the project <br />was $292,650.25. The original contract amount based on estimated quantities was $256,940.12 and the <br />final construction contract based on actual quantities and change orders is $290,557.58. The attached <br />Change Order 2 addresses extra costs in the amount of $1,981.00 the contractor incurred based on field <br />conditions. The attached Change Order 3 addresses the increase in contract costs in the amount of <br />$21,788.08. The increase in cost is related to payment of actual final quantities verses estimated <br />quantities. <br />Explanation: All contract work with G.M. Contracting, Inc. for Project 09-9, Old Highway 8 NW <br />Watermain Upgrade has been completed and accepted by City staff. This payment includes payment on <br />all contract final quantities and Change Order items associated with the project. It also releases all <br />payment retainage. <br />Costs and Funding: The watermain has been programmed in the water rates and will be funded from <br />the Water Improvement fund.
