June 21, 2010 Page 5 of 6 <br />reported the pond is overgrown with trees, the City plans to bring the area up to current code, and <br />clean up the area. Councilmember Bauman was pleasantly surprised with the bids received, and <br />commented that it is beneficial to keep the street projects current. Councilmember Samuelson <br />agreed. <br />Motion by Councilmember Bauman, seconded by Councilmember Samuelson to accept <br />the bids and adopt the attached resolution awarding a contract for City Project 10-1, <br />2010 Street Rehabilitation to the lowest responsible bidder, Valley Paving, Inc., in the <br />amount of $590,968.35. <br />4 Ayes, 0 Nays -Motion Carried <br />Commission Liaison Reports. Announcements and Updates <br />Dean Lotter <br />City Manager Lotter announced he will be meeting with the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency <br />and representatives from Ashland Oil to discuss entering into a three party compliance agreement <br />that would focus on cleaning up the northern nine acres on the west side of the Northwest Commission Liaison <br />Quadrant. Manager Lotter also reported a term sheet has been submitted to Ramsey County for Reports. <br />consideration of a library at the Family Service Center. The Park <br />and Recreation Commission meeting was attended, fall and spring program offerings are being <br />reviewed. Meeting are scheduled for late fall to review the City's policy on Canadian geese. <br />Mayor Jacobsen <br />Nothing to report <br />Mary Bur¢ <br />Absent <br />Char Samuelson <br />Councilmember Samuelson reminded the audience National Night Out will be August 3rd. <br />Public Safety reported the following recent personnel changes; Trevor Hamdorf was appointed <br />Deputy Fire Chief, and Mike Schute was appointed to Fire Captain.
