The low
bid for Schedule B of $21,263.50 was also submitted by John's Landscaping for a total project cost of $50,351.30.
The project was estimated to cost $51,000.
Explanation: Staff reviewed the medians along Silver Lake Road south of T.H. 694, and upon inspection, 14
Emerald Luster Maples were found dead or cut off at ground level. The contractor will replace the dead trees, and
remove the existing stumps. The existing landscape rock will be replaced with a wood fiber mulch to promote
water retention within the soil. Within the Silver Lake Road medians, a few small sections of decorative concrete
and curb and gutter are damaged, which will be removed and replaced.
The second area of construction includes two existing medians at Long Lake Road and 694. These medians
include landscape rock and shrubs. Currently these medians do not have a maintenance buffer from Long Lake
Road. The contractor will install a decorative stamped concrete adjacent to the curb, similar to that found on the
existing Silver Lake Road medians. The existing shrubs and landscape rock will be replaced with low growing
salt tolerant plants and wood fiber mulch.
The following quotes were received by staff on September 21, 2010:
Schedule A: Schedule B:
Johns Landscaping $29,087.80 John's Landscaping
Noble Landscaping $37,506.50 Landmark Concrete
Bever Landscaping $58,186.60 Bever Landscaping
All work must be completed by October 29, 2010.
Costj and Fu ing• This project will be financed out of Fund 422.
--41;
Grant N4 Wyffe E.
Director of Public orks
Attachments
Plans and Project Location Map
Bid Tabulation
$21,263.50
$22,310.00
$25,861.50
