taking things away from children when we should be structuring things better. If it takes <br />raising taxes, then that's what it takes. Inquired if New Brighton operates the 55 Alive <br />Driving class; she thought it was an AARP offering. When she has taken those classes, <br />Is the room is full. People have been turned away because there was not enough room. She <br />would like the Commission to take another look at that. She has a computer, but many of <br />her friends her age do not. So, to take an on line class would not work for them. <br />Burg commented that the Council made the decision not to fill the vacant positions in <br />Parks and Recreation, and therefore, these cuts are taking place. We have the same <br />Council members, so this will probably carry into 2011. No one likes to do this but it is <br />necessary. We are looking at every way to make this less painful. Selling this building <br />has come up several times in the last few months. Everything is on the table.
