Goose Mitigation Discussion
Chair Norton stated the discussion would focus around whether the goose
management program will continue as it has been in the past. Related to
this was egg addling. There were other issues on what to do with the golf
course and what to do with public vs. private land.
Items discussed are as follows:
• Decision to defer a public hearing.
• Discussion on the definition of public land/open space and open
water.
• Continue to do the goose survey.
• Desire to do egg addling, however to do it this spring would be
difficult to pull together. More research is needed, volunteers need
to be recruited and trained and volunteers would need direction by
staff.
• Commission felt it important to increase the public education of
goose management by using the City website, free resources,
possible speaker and information at the Town Hall meeting.
